St John Ambulance ACT is a not for profit volunteer-based organisation that has been serving the Canberra community since 1927. We are committed to providing excellence in first aid training and products, event health services, community and education programs and disaster response. Our skilled and compassionate volunteers reflect the diversity of the ACT community, giving thousands of hours of service to help tens of thousands of people each year.
Passionate about wellbeing
St John Ambulance ACT volunteers provide first aid patient care. Our volunteer program provides a range of training, activities and experiences to develop the potential of our volunteers to make a world of difference to the community.
Saving lives
First aid knowledge and equipment gives people the skills to help save a loved one, friend, work colleague or passer-by, should accident or disaster strike. Our training and services enable the community to help themselves and build a more resilient community.
In times of disaster
As part of the Territory Emergency Management Plan, St John Ambulance ACT plays a vital support role in assisting the community when it counts most. Our taskforce of qualified volunteers stand alongside emergency services in preparing for, responding to, and helping the Canberra community recover from disaster.
We are not-for-profit
As a registered charity, we rely on our commercial ventures to fund our humanitarian services. Revenue generated from training and product sales enables us to deliver a suite of community first aid education programs to the community.
